Why Choose Sonia ?
Sonia Has a wealth of experience
Health and wellbeing for you, your family and your business. Sounds like a cliché, but it is my business, my passion and I have a genuine desire to support individuals with their own challenges and vulnerabilities. I am invested in your mental wellness, offering support and empathy to help navigate through your difficulties and challenges. Poor mental health is the invisible illness that so many people experience, but no one else can see.
I trained and qualified in 2007 and have supported people of all ages, from children to senior citizens. I have worked in many environments and started my counselling career in Schools working with Children, parents and carers. I then worked in Family Centers supporting families with emotional needs and communication difficulties. I am a counselling supervisor, providing support and guidance for other counsellors to ensure the integrity of clinical services, which is vital to the practice and development of counsellors, maintaining ethical and professional boundaries.
I am CRUSE Bereavement trained and have worked previously in a Hospice with terminally ill patients for the NHS for over 4 years, providing support for patients and families at that very difficult and challenging time.
After moving to Oxford two and a half years ago, I now work in private practice. I still support children, young people and adults of all ages. Families in group therapy, couples, to improve their communication and address problems in their relationship. I also work face to face with Blue light services, Military employees and their families, The Police federation and many more. I have and still work with companies through Employee Assistance Programs that large companies and organizations often invest in as part of well-being support for their employees, offering EAP to other companies would also be available.
I work within a major car manufacturer on site as a face-to-face counsellor, helping and understanding the challenges that a stressful demanding work environment can sometimes bring and add to mental well-being
